Jahn Restoration Adhesive

Jahn Restoration Adhesive is designed for bonding broken or damaged natural stone, concrete, brick, or terra cotta. It may also be used to repair porcelain and ceramic tiles. This mineral-based adhesive is free of harmful solvents making it safe for the user and the environment. Jahn Restoration Adhesive is easy to use and comes in several different colors that can be blended to increase color matching options.

Application Procedures

Surface Preparation
Remove dirt, dust, or loose, deleterious material from all bonding surfaces with clean water and a stiff non-wire brush.

Mixing
Add approximately 5:1 powdered adhesive to clean water to make a thick paste. Mix thoroughly by hand, or with a small hand mixer for no longer than 2 minutes. Mixing the adhesive longer causes it to become soupy. Once the adhesive is thoroughly mixed let it stand for approximately 5 minutes before using. This material allows for a long working time.

Application
Pre-wet all bonding surfaces immediately before application of adhesive. Stir adhesive once more after initial mixing and apply to all broken surfaces.

Substrates that have a high moisture absorption rate may need to be pretreated with a slurry application of the Jahn Adhesive. Make a slurry by adding 1:5 adhesive powder to clean water. Mix thoroughly and apply to pre-moistened surface with a brush. Allow slurry to dry and then apply adhesive mixed to normal consistency of approximately 5 parts adhesive powder to 1 part clean water.

Clean Up
Scrape any excess away as soon as possible. Use clean water and a clean sponge to remove excess adhesive before it dries.

Safety Requirements
It is recommended that safety goggles and rubber gloves be used when mixing and applying Jahn Restoration Adhesive. In the event that adhesive comes into contact with the eyes or skin, wash with clean water immediately.

Limitations.
* Never apply Jahn Restoration Adhesive to a frozen or exceedingly hot substrate.
* Adhesive can not be used in places that suffer from permanent dampness. Do not use on marble.

Storage
Store material in a dry area away from severe cold or heat with average humidity.
